I have just installed hassbian onto my SD card and started the pi with the SD card with it connect to to an Ethernet cable now it says that you must wait ruffly 5 min for it to start and then go to http://hassbian.local:8123 now i have waited 30min and when i click the link nothing happens. May i ask whats happening and am i interpreting the initialization correctly in that they are saying that home assistant will be installed with the wait time of the 5 minutes plus or minus?
Hi Stewart, it all depends on your internet connection, and which Pi you’re using (or other device). It took my first gen Pi about 30-40 minutes to come online. Have you tried scanning your local network to see if you see any device which has the vendor Raspberry Pi Foundation? On a Mac you can use Lanscan.
