Hi All,
For my company we are exploring home automation options. We started using homebridge on a local Pi installation but we are not happy with this setup. We came acros home assistant and i believe this is the way to go. What we would like to do is:
We will help customers creating there smart office by using home assistant, currently we have 2 instances running from our cloud datacenter. We use site to site vpn to connect to devices on the customer location. this works like a charm! It is fast and till now we did not get any issues with it.
But, we would love to get Home Assistant stuff running inside HomeKit, there is a native integration but in that case the we need to be on the same subnet as the home assistant setup, this is not possible in a cloud setup.
What could be options to get this working? i allready tested with homebridge-homeassitant but this is depricated and we need some robust solution. Are there any homekit gateways or is there a way to tell homeassistant to send packets to the vpn subnet?
i know this is not an out of the box solution but i believe there could be a great value in getting this working.
Hope anyone can help us!
