Home Assistant installed on KVM TrueNAS can't access Truenas' services and SMB shares

I just set up my home assistant inside TrueNAS Scale Dragonfish using the guides in the forums. Everything has been going quite well until I needed to connect my Home Assistant instance to the SMB share of my TrueNAS where the Home Assistant was. I installed the Terminal & SSH add-on to check my network.

Here, you can see me pinging different devices in my local network. Some failed due to the firewall but it worked eventually, leaving and isolating the problem to the TrueNAS and HASS instance inside one device. I tried reaching the server using Tailscale from both, but still did not work. What am I missing here? What do I do?

Please help, thank you guys!

The most common method is to create a bridge on TrueNAS and connect the VM to that. This applies to any VM on TrueNAS SCALE, not just HAOS.

There may be other video guides to follow, but I’ve suggested the above because Stux is a regular in the TrueNAS forums. If you still have trouble after watching his video, you may get better TrueNAS-specific help in that forum.
