Home Assistant is only showing "loading data"? What can I do? (I REALLY NEED HELP!)

Hi!

Since two days, after running for hours without problems, when I try to get to the Home Assistant webpage I am only getting “loading data” and nothing more happens.
I am running the newest versions of HassOS and Home Assistant on a Pi 4B 4GB.

I tried it with Safari, Vivaldi, Opera and Chrome and also the iOS App and all showed the same behaviour.

I can go to the shell via ssh and reboot the Pi, because I have no knowledge what else can be done there. But that’s all.

Can someone help me here?

You can check the logs for errors with SSH.

List of commands is here:

Start by disabling addon components in your configuration.xml

Add-ons are not configured in configuration.yaml. I suspect you want to say custom components?

This isn’t a thing:

It’s addons, or integrations.

Neither is this:

It’s .yaml.

Check your logs, then deal with the errors rather than randomly removing things.

I looked into the logs, but there is nothing which has to to with the website.

This is the end of the log:

Ha, it’s what I get for trying to answer a question with kids and wife constantly asking me question.

Hmm, I didn’t changed a thing the last days. This came completeley suddenly.

That looks like the supervisor log. All good there. Check the core log.

This is the end of it:

I am using ssl via duckdns and the local address of my Mac is 192.168.178.77 which is mentioned one time.

So no errors?

No, there is nothing.

Yesterday I had the same and made a reboot. I would say it worked for 15 hours or so.

Today it was the same, suddenly Home Assistant was not available again!

I looked and the duckdns address was the actual external address of my router, so that is correct. And this address had changed at 3 o’clock in the morning.

Did you ever figure this out? I just got the same issue since upgrading to to .108.x

I see this error in my HA log:

2020-04-15 23:21:41 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.websocket_api.http.connection.2817804208] Unable to serialize to JSON: Object of type builtin_function_or_method is not JSON serializable

Running HassIO on a Rasp Pi…ran fine on .107.7

No, I didn’t saw this type of error in my log. It didn’t happen the last two days, I will look for it…

How are you able to get around the Loading Data loop? The only solution I found was to roll back to .107.7.

I rebooted the Pi from ssh and then it run again for a few days without any problem.

Hmmmm. No matter what I do after upgrading to .108 it gets stuck in the Loading Data loop. I’m stumped.

Did you try to connect to your Home Assistant with the outside or the local IP-address?
