Home Assistant not finding Home Wizard (first time setup)

Hello,

I’ve been trying to connect my HomeWizard devices to Home Assistant but can’t get it to work. Googling etc. I see people loosing connections but not any problems with connecting when trying the first time.

Is there anything I can try myself to get this to work? If not is GitHub to right place to file an issue?

Thanks for any advice

My problem:
I have a HomeWizard P1 meter and energy socket. They are active in de HomeWizard app and ‘local API’ is on. This al seems to work as it should from the app. Second step would be to connect these to my Home Assistant. HA doesn’t automatically find the HomeWizard devices. If I try manually I get the error *‘Device unreachable, make sure that you have entered the correct IP address and that the device is available in your network’. Checked everything several times and devices are connected and can be pinged from a laptop.

My setup:
Home Assistant (on Pi4 connected to my router.)

  • Core 2024.1.2
  • Supervisor 2023.12.0
  • Operating System 11.4
  • Frontend 20240104.0
(been trying for several updates since 10-12-2023 without any change)

HomeWizard P1 and Energy Socket connected to the app and ‘local API’ on.
WiFi Deco P9
Can ping to both my HA and de P1 and Energy Socket from a laptop on WiFi.
Other WiFi devices, such as Sonoff, are detected by HA without any problems

Make sure your devices are reachable from Home Assistant. Maybe you have connected your HA machine to another router / extender / VLAN or something. Or maybe you have some firewall / parental control settings wrong.

To test if it was an isue with de DECO P9 I reactivated de Wifi of my router and connected de P1 meter to this Wifi. This resulted in HA automaticly detecting the P1 meter.

Altough this narrows the problem it doesn’t solve it yet. I can’t find a setting in de DECO P9 or my router to counter this.

Same issue here.

I am on ASUS AImesh-network, I suspect that could be giving the issue, but no idea on how to fix it. So far only issue is with homewizard (P1 meter).

Same Problem Here

The Deco M9 has two setup options:

  1. Wi-Fi Router: This mode creates its own network.
  2. Access Point: This mode extends the Wi-Fi network of your existing router.

In my experience, the P1 meter is only detected when the Deco is set up as an Access Point. You can change this setting in the Deco App by navigating to More > Advanced > Operation Mode.

Please note that while using Access Point mode, some Deco functions may be limited, but this setup resolved my issue.
