I’m setting up a voice assistant in Home Assistant using Piper for TTS and Faster Whisper for STT.
Current Status:
The voice assistant can hear and respond in text.
Piper is installed, started, and successfully plays test audio from the integration settings.
However, the voice assistant does not use Piper for spoken responses during conversations.
Troubleshooting So Far:
Whisper is processing speech correctly.
No errors appear in the Home Assistant logs.
Other assistants also fail to send TTS responses.
The Assist pipeline is set to use Piper for TTS.
Question:
What could be preventing Piper from being used for responses in the Assist conversation? Are there additional configuration steps I might have missed?
