Hello i have a little dilemma and i cant seem to come to any conclusion so my alexa is connected to my main network and the hardware running home assistant is running on a router with a different local IP the router it is running on is ethernet only so i cant connect alexa to it the they are on the “Same network” by technicality but they have different gateway addresses my main network the alexa is on right now is 10.0.0.1 and the network my hardware is running on is 10.0.69.1 for the gateway and what im trying to do is use the alexa media player to “discover devices” , thanks in advance
a little more context im running home assistant in a proxmox instance
Heh?
Anyway, if they are on different TCP/IP networks (I assume 10.0.0.0/24 and 10.0.69.0/24), discovery won’t work, as it relies on broadcasts, which are not routed.
Sounds like he uses double NAT (router behind a router)
I think OP means they are both on the same cable but with different VLAN’s / routers
