Home Assistant Operating System Generic x86-64 Loses Configuration After Reboot

Hello!

I attempted to look for my problem both on the forums and in google before posting, so my apologies if this question has been asked before. I’ve done a clean install of HA OS x86-64 (imaged sata SSD). When the machine boots, I am presented with the standard “first boot” prompts (name, username, password). I can then get in, install integrations, see my smart switches and plugs, add them to lovelace, etc. However… when I reboot the machine (Supervisor → System → Reboot Host), it seems to forget the configuration and I am brought back to the “first boot” screen again. Even my backups are gone. Am I missing some sort of persistent partition or something? I’ve been using HA on a VM image for years and it’s worked great. I bought a separate box in hopes of making adding external accessories easier (like bluetooth, Zwave, etc dongles) so I imaged a sata disk with dd using the “haos_generic-x86-64-6.6.img”. Please advise and thank you in advance!!

Sounds like an overlay filesystem. maybe you have activated one by accident.

I think that was the case. I replaced the SSD with a larger one and imaged it. Worked like a charm!
