I’m trying to install Home Assistant OS on Intel NUC model number DC53427HYE. I’m following the instrallation instructions on the Home Assistant site under Generic x86-64 here a href=“Generic x86-64 - Home Assistant” and using method 1. I complete the entire process and try to boot to the HAOS on the internal SSD and the BIOS complains there is no bootable image in the SSD. Going back into the BIOS the SSD isn’t an option to boot from. I have double checked secureboot is disabled several times.
Restarting Ubuntu from a USB drive and using gnome disks to look at the internal SSD there are two HAOS partitions.
Thanks everyone. This has been a facinating process and I have learned alot about HAOS. The problem I am having still exists which is I’m not able to write the HAOS to the system SSD on my NUC. Using Method 1 results in HAOS to the system SSD, but the NUC won’t boot to it. In the BIOS it does not detect the SSD since it does not find a bootable image.
My work aroud for now is to write HAOS to a USB drive using Method 1. It works well so I simply boot the NUC to the external USB drive. There is no wireed ethernet near the NUC, but the video at the following URL:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAdDtbNMYPM described how to manually connect HAOS to WiFi. I created an account on my system and I’m abale to use it now. Eventually I’ll find a way to copy HAOS to the main system SSD on my NUC, but I’m now able to evaluate Home Assistant.
