Folowing a 3 week struggle i was succesfull to get my gifted HP ml350 g6 on which i installed with E
sxi and the Home assistant OS.
I have come to realize that i can only add 1 USB to the HAVM. This for me has become a big issue because although i am currenly running z-wave using an AEOTEC usb, i will need to add an additional usb to connect zigbee usb and a wifi usb
After looking a severav videos on youtube and reading many threads i can only assume that with proxmox v7 i can add and passthrough multiple usbs to home assistant.
Iβm i correct in this assumptioncan this be confirmed?
I currently have HA on a debian laptop and all works fine. I have a z-wave use same as above and i use the wifi from the laptop for shelly devices. In a very neer future i will need to add a combee or sonoff zigbee usb to the mix.
I would like to add HA OS as vm to my proxmox server (a dell r710)
My most pressing concern at the moment, is how to add wifi functionality to HAOS vm.
does any one have experience on how to add a wifi usb to the haos vm? so i can continue to use my shelly devices and the relative automations
Thank you so much for your contribution to my learning
It depends on your wifi card/dongle, if itβs usb you need to pass usb through, if itβs a pcie card or an onboard, then you need to pass through pcie
It comes at an opportune moment as i am migrating this weekend from my debian to my proxmox server.
I currently have HAOS on the proxmox server as a test run and all seems to function correctly.
This weekend i will backup my HA settings from my laptop and restore and update my HAOS on the proxmox server. I currently configured and passthrough my z-wave and wifi usb. to it
Next week I will be adding the zigbee usb (still need to decide on which one)
