Will Home Assistant run on HomeKit Yellow without setting up a container?

I do not understand your question.

Yellow is the name of Home Assistant hardware, not HomeKit. I believe it comes pre-installed with everything you need.

I was confused by the Home Assistant website, it went from downloading the Rasberry pi Os to onboarding, then it talked about container. I am a novice to this but I thought purchasing the Home Assistant yellow would basically allow me to plug & play. Thanks for your input.
