I have macOS Ventura and HomeAssistant 22.10.5. I download the macOS mobile app, but the after login the mobile_app integration shows my macBook (I named my MacBook as macBook) as iPad. I know I can change the name manually but all the entities start with iPad. Where did it get the name iPad? I tried re-move and re-download the app, but nothing change. still iPad.
I don’t think so as my iPhone app use my iPhone name not iPhone as mobile app device name and my MacBook use my MacBook name in bigSur. It just has this problem on Ventura. Hopefully someone here know how the mobile app choose the device name.
The privacy feature Apple introduced in iOS 16 was carried over into macOS 13 but the exceptions for accessing device name (of which we were granted) were not carried over. The redacted name that Apple replaces the device name with is “iPad” likely due to the fact that it is a Catalyst app and that’s the fallback for not-iPhone. You can follow along at:
