Sorry about that - yes, just thumbs up! Thanks!
today I installed it on my Synology ds412+ without success.
there si no connection to the updater and the supervisor tab shows up blank
anyone solved this yet?
how did you get to this file?
from the Synology?
Try to stop the packed in package center and start. Some also reported that it helped to clear supervisor container after they stopped package and before restart.
BTW DS412+ - that’s an old one… How many RAM do you have?
i’m unable to install addons, true supervisor.
something with network issues i guess.
anyone else experiencing this problem ?
Hi, I like to integrate my iRobot Roomba 980 with firmware 2.4.8-44 into HA with Hass.in on Synology DSM
Based on above page I should retrieve 2 credentials: blid and password
I really have no idea where to start on this adventure…
There is a lot of information available on:
but this is all Chinese for me.
Could anyone chase me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance!
Its was running 1gb of ram but i upgraded it to 4gb
Everything works fine in docker, on sunology, it seems to me better to support the kernel and develop it on docker to transfer editing and backup functions there than to produce a bunch of containers. The simpler the system, the more reliable it is, all these smart houses without stable work are rubbish.
All you need to do is the network driver macvlan
And put on the link, ports or other settings do not need to be done since you will already be on the main network
https://registry.hub.docker.com/r/homeassistant/home-assistant/
For what are you using macvlan? To give HA other IP address then Synology?
If you are running HA Core, don’t see a reason for that…
Hi all,
I just wanted to start using hass.io.
I wanted to install it on my Synology NAS, which is already using DSM7.
When trying to install, I get an error message, because root rights are supported.
Is there any option to install it at DSM7 already?
I’ve already searched for an option to activate root on DSM7, but with no luck.
Thanks in advance
I submitted a support request on the Docker package about updating the version.
To be honest, I don’t expect too much of it. Maintaining software updates on all the additional packages is probably low on Synology’s list of priorities. I’m pretty sure they see those as extra’s, a little feature that makes the device interesting to potential buyers.
Even if they update the version in the next months, we’ll run into the same issue again eventually.
What I would like is a way to manually update Docker to a newer version.
Let per se in order to accomplish this I want to run VM on Synology. The question will how much memory needs to be set aside for the VM? Is it better to run RPI 4 + SSD or Ha Blue which is almost identical with RPI4 or should we just run Hassio on synology? @BeardedConti What do you think?
Well, no, there is no way to run hass.io, but also a lot of other packages on beta version of DSM 7.
But I presume that you didn’t update your main Synology to Beta version. It’s really not recommended and bad idea to run first beta (or any beta) on production system.
For VM, I can’t answer you, as I’ve not tested it - not with full system or with test system.
In my opinion, it’s cheaper to run RPi 4 with HA then HA Blue and you would get almost same experience. Of course, HA Blue is now only really officially supported HW, so that’s also good bet. Either one of them is good option.
Of course not. My main NAS is a QNAP, but I’m playing around with a Synology at the moment, because I want to switch to them.
Hello! Thanks for this setup works really well.
Had a question. Is it possible to move this setup to use a different interface on the Synology NAS?
This may be a bit forward, but is there a way that you can tell us what your DSM package does for setup so that we can install it manually in an ssh session. Technically it is only getting specific docker images and running them with specific variables.
I ask this because I did the script to update Docker on Synology and because of that your package install will not work.
I really just need which packages to download and then what was the command lines for them.
Hello
I have installed Hass.io from package center, I see that it is version 2021.1.2:
-I realize that some errors appear, is it normal?
-It doesn’t let me enter from the app either (with iOS, but I don’t think it’s the iOS problem).
-And finally, I can’t access supervisor either, it remains blank, it doesn’t load the page.
I use synology 918+, could someone tell me if it happens too? Can I fix it somehow?
Thank you so much.
(this is copy of the answer from few days ago).
Try to stop the packed in package center and start. Some also reported that it helped to clear supervisor container after they stopped package and before restart.
