I guess it could be anything. Did it get one before? Is the interface the same? Change anything on the AP ? Change anything else?
No changes to home network as the VMDK was just downloaded\installed today.
I would make sure you setup the network type correctly. It needs to be “bridged” and the correctly selected NICS.
EDIT: These are the pages I used to get things all setup.
I think DHCP was on and the VM still was not getting an IP for whatever reason no dice. Yes I did have bridge networking enabled. Ideally I want Home Assistant on a Pi, but have trouble getting the one I want (Pi 400). I ended up re-doing things scratch. This time it got an IP but my IoT devices are on different vlan. I wasn’t aware VMware Player was free so I will setup it on a desktop I have on my IoT network. Thanks
My IoT are also on a different vLAN, and don’t have an issue. My network is all Unifi, if that makes a difference.
