Home Assistant via App

Hello everyone,

How can I now link the new Home Assistant to an app? I installed the “Smart Life” app but the server cannot be found via the local IP address. I turned 80 in February and unfortunately I don’t understand everything that is written here. Maybe someone can tell me something about it.

Thank you and best regards
Heinz

You need the Home Assistant app, not the Smart Life app.

or if I misunderstood the question, if you want to link the Smart Life app to Home Assistant, you need to install the Tuya integration. (That will show the items from the Smart Life app in the Home Assistant app)

Sounds as if you need the Home Assistant Companion app. It’s in Google Play or the Apple app store.

Alternatively, any browser will do - connect to http://homeassistant.local:8123

Sorry, but what is the “Tuya integration”?

See here:

Unfortunately, the app cannot find a server even though the smartphone is in the same subnet, i.e. in the home Wi-Fi network.

Do you have any ideas?
