I recently lost all connections with all my devices on Home Assistant when I replaced my Insteon Hub with their new new hub, insteon took my original hub and transferred my devices from the original hub to the new one.
However nothing works on Home Assistant, in fact my raspberry 3 won’t connect, probably due to recognizing the new hub.
I am really a laymen, and my level of knowledge is somewhat minimal compared to your typical user.
I would appreciate any help I can receive, my Alexa app says we are linked to Home Assistant but no actions can be completed by it with regards to Home Assistant.
Being handicapped physically, I depend on Alexa to assist me with numerous scenes and operations around my home which are physically a challenge without it’s ability to function
New hub might have new password (likely does). It probably if DHCP has different IP address.Did you only plug it in or did you reconfigure access? Specifically if you go to the Insteon Integration and select configure Hub, are these correct? (Note I blanked my ID). The ID and password of the Hub are printed on the bottom unless you have the Insteon cloud app and you can change them. Without the Insteon Cloud app, these are fixed default values. Also the IP addess should be checked, a new hub will likely get a new DHCP assigned address. You should set a reserved IP address for it (again unless you have the Insteon CLoud app as you can then change them).
I have a similar issue. The IP address of my Hub2 changed and I am not able to change the configuration to the new IP address. When I try to make the change on the Insteon configuration page I get a message that says “Could not connect to the modem. Pleaes check the configuration.”
I have verified that I am able to directly log into the Hub 2 with the username/password so that is not the issue. I have also verified that I can ping the Hub2 IP address from the HA machine.
Is there something that would cause the Hub2 to refuse a connection from HA? I’m at a loss for next steps.
