Home assistant won't boot on raspberry pi 3b+ ssd on lastest version on their website

I’ve confirmed my kingston ssd will boot with rasbian. I see koying (Chris B) indicated updating the /boot/cmdline.txt. Not sure how I update for my RPi3.
