Home kit intergration outside home

Hi I have setup home kit integration and everything works thru home kit when I am on my local lan but if I leave the house all my devices go to unavailable. What am I missing here , a standard apple home kit device is still accessible if it was configured via home kit

You’ll need to have a device that’s ‘always on’ to act as a hub in the home. For example, an Apple TV or an iPad that stays in the house.

Thanks but it’s a Apple TV and it’s is on and in the house.
