It would be ideal to support the new Home Panel in the Android home assistant app, I have a Pixel Tablet that I would like to use this way. Basically you press the home button on the bottom left on lock screen (you don’t have to unlock the device) and that home panel will pop up this way:
Google says: “The home panel gives you quick, one-tap access to your Google Home, directly from the Android lock screen or quick settings. It will make it faster and easier to control the devices, automations and actions you use most often, such as turn off the lights, adjust the temp or view a camera, without needing to open your device, navigate to the app and find what you’re looking for”
You can switch apps right now on my Pixel Tablet, Home and tinyCam Monitor Pro apps supports this.
This is a Google feature, of a Google App, that frontends a Google ecosystem, on a Google OS, specifically restricted to Google hardware, where you have to specifically select the exposed items…
Personally I’d say HA has gone as far as it can. I don’t know the Android SDK so I can’t be certain, but this is a Google thing who’s making the magic happen here, and who can and cannot partake.
HA already has integration into the Settings pull-down. Surprisingly, they can also actually be set to activated without authentication too.
