I’m hoping this is the right area to ask…
My Yamaha rx-a3050 is starting to bite the dust and I’m looking for a suitable replacement. My first thought would be to just get the current gen counterpart, the RX-A8A, but it’s already four years old with no sign of a next gen.
Things I really like about the Yamaha:
- good integration with home assistant, with the ability to select inputs and power/volume/mute
- exceptional preset scene editing (which is somewhat hard to find) via webUI (if you have a Yamaha with network control, visit
receiver-ip/Setup/index.html- you can edit everything) - The bonus is that you can pre-define the scenes (which also includes things like which HDMI out is enabled, volume level, etc) then just turn on a scene from HA, recalling all of the settings
Do any other receiver brands offer similar features? What are others using?
