HomeAssistant: Alexa Overload!

Hi All

Happy weekend! Hope you’re all having a good one!

Was wondering if anyone has had this situation before? I have been slowly moving all my automations out of Alexa and into HA, I am so addicted to this system and love coming up with new automation ideas that you just can’t do in other systems as well. (IMO)…

Anyway, I already have pretty much all my devices linked with Alexa already but decided it might be useful if I link HA to my Alexa account so I can maybe do some cool TTS announcements on my echo devices at some point…

Anyway… Since linking my two systems together, Alexa has scanned and discovered all my devices that were already in Alexa but also in HA and added them all over again! I now have sooooooo many devices in Alexa, to make it worse it has ground down the Alexa performance to a snails pace (to navigate the UI) and has Alexa complaining that there are multiple devices with the same name every time you ask her to control or do something on a device…

I was just wondering if people have come across this already or if there is a known way to manage the connection of these two systems?

the only way I know you can manage that is to just remove all of the devices from Alexa that are not brought in from HA.

Thanks for that… I feel soo stupid, as I read your comment and realised… Of course, you’re right… I will remove all the links from Alexa and just leave the HA one in place then go about setting all my groups up again…

Thanks for the reply and sorry for asking such a stupid question!
