I have setup an external usb ntfs drive with two partitions. At first they are shown fine in my media browser but after I disconnected and reconnected the drive only the folders for the partitions are shown with no entries or files in it. This worked perfectly fine before.
I run HASSIO OS and the supervisior does recognize the drive perfectly and shows the partition folders but nothing more. I also have setup a mount folder inside media called nas and also this folder is shown but no files in it.

This is normal behavior and it is one of the reasons this is
officially by HA, and only found in the user base.
If you remove the drive USB plug, you will have to boot the server again with it plugged in for the mount to happen again.
Also if have not run into this yet, you should exclude the mounted drives from any backup because if the data on the mounted drive is more than the main HA drive sill fit, the back-up will fail by filling uo the drive and causing the system to crash. (Ask me how I know…)
Doesn’t mean you can’t do it, it just means you are mostly on your own when it breaks. I knew this answer because I use this hack as well. (And I def consider it a hack and do not recommend it)
