Homeassistant network hell

This will happen again - it was mostly likely file corruption on the SD Card. It will fail again - not IF, but WHEN is the question. Nothing lasts forever but you should strongly consider an NVME, it will run condierable faster - or at least an SSD on USB. At the very least clone - and then throw away - the old sd card

I’ve been using a lot of Pi5’s for other projects. Wifi on de Pi5 especially when there is a cooler fitted is not that great. The Pi was one on one moment and then after a few days it would drop from the network and not reconnect.

I had to help al lot of people who were telling me that their phone’s were just working fine.

A Raspberry Pi is a great device, but that doesn’t mean all the components are great.

With respect to addressing, if you can’t access your router, don’t configure a network address manually. Another device on you network will end up with the network address of your Home Assistant installation and then nothing works anymore.
