HomeKit Bridge: Axis Camera h.264 video stream no response

My cameras show up in HomeKit (the image is updating every 10 s), but when I try to view the stream it times out with no response. I can view the video stream in Home Assistant (Axis Integration).

I have tried changing the stream settings on the Axis cameras (h.264, low bandwidth settings).

Axis cameras are set up as Accessories in HomeKit Bridge integration.

Not sure what else to try at his point.

Similar threads on this forum just suggest making sure it is an h.264 stream, which I am already doing.

Suggestions?

Thanks, Mike

You want to install Scrypted to put your camera into HomeKit from Home Assistant. This will give any camera you have the ability to use HKSV.

Can I do it without Scrypted? I don’t want to pay the Scrypted license fees as I have 9 Axis cameras.

You do not need to purchase a license. It can be installed as a Home Assistant add-on and you will get full functionality. The license is only if you want to run Scrypted NVR.

Thanks, I will give it a try. Are there setup instructions for this anywhere?

Follow the link in my previous reply, it’s easy to set up.

Thanks. Did that and got Scrypted add on installed.

Which Scrypted plugin should I install to add my Axis cameras.

I tried the Axis Camera plugin and it seemed to work. I added a camera, but cannot get the video to stream. Looking at the readme for this plugin and it may not be working yet.

Sorry, I can’t help with your camera model but I will assume that your cams support basic ONVIF profiles? Try the ONVIF plugin.

I don’t know how dated this discussion is but I did find this.

Thanks I was successful using the ONVIF plugin.

I’m glad you got it working! Good job - enjoy your cameras on the best of both worlds.
