I have a realy strange issue with HomeKit support.
TLDR: Devices in the IOT Network cannot control HomeKit on HASS, even though they are on the same local network and should be able to communicate directly.
The Setup:
IOT Network:
-Contains Home Assistant Instance (VM on ESXi)
-Contains other HomeBridge servers, HomeKit native devices, etc
-Contains Apple HomePod’s
-Avahi mDNS Reflector Server (Has an interface in both networks)
Home Network:
-Contains user devices (iPhones, iPads, AppleTV, etc)
-Avahi mDNS Reflector Server (Has an interface in both networks)
Using HomeKit via the HomeBridge instances, or the HomeKit devices works fine from both networks.
HomeKit has no issue pairing with Home Assistant from either network.
Any devices in the Home network can control HomeKit on the HASS no issues
(As long as Avahi running)
Devices in the IOT Network cannot control HomeKit on HASS, even though they are on the same local network and should be able to communicate directly.
This one has me stumped,
Anyone else seen this or have any suggestions?
