Ok so I’ve been using HA for a couple of months and have about 50 devices and all sorts of integrations and automations setup. Everything is working for my purposes so I’m finally getting around to learning a bit more.
Every time I restart HA, I receive (8) notifications that are similar to this: HomeKit Pairing
To set up HASS Bridge xx:xxxxx in the Home App, scan the QR code or enter the following code:
What exactly am I missing? I dismiss the notifications, and everything is working fine, but what can I do to either address these messages, or ensure they stop pesting me?
Good question… This is probably where I have a lot of confusion. I have some working deivces setup with Homekit… but I’m not 100% sure I know what I’m doing. I’ve included some screenshots if that helps.?
The first picture shows the Homekit Device integration (Homekit to Home Assistant), the second shows 8 Homekit Bridges (Home Assistant to Homekit). Those are probably empty, so the integration is sending permanently pairing notifications.
When you hit „configure“, is there any entity selected, or do you get a popup with a notice that the entry is Yaml-configured?
If the entries are empty, I would simply delete them.
Although my wife has an iPhone and an iPad, we don’t homekit at all… so perhaps I don’t need this bridge integration at all… I did click on it and below are some screen shots… I definitely see a bunch of my devices… but they don’t appear to be configured.
So I just deleted all the entities… and the entire integration disappeared… I restarted HA and now all those notifications are gone!! I can only assume I added the HomeKit bridge in my early days exploring HA and it simply isn’t necessary in my setup.
