I have been using the Home/Homekit integration since at least 2019, but lately with iOS 15.4.1 and HA 2022.4.1, all entities in the Home app take easily a minute of “Updating” to get the latest state, making the whole thing useless. Before this, it was instant. I like to control my HA stuff via the Home app as it´s well integrated into iOS.
I´m not quite sure if it´s the new HA version or iOS version but I´m seeing this only in the last few days, so HA update being the culprit seems more probable to me.
I don´t see anything relevant in the HA log. How can I debug this more? I tried disabling Adguard Home to see if it doesn´t block anything crucial but it made no difference. Thanks.
I just installed the homekit integration yesterday for the first time. Using the same versions of IOS and HA that you are and having similar outcome. All of the devices passed into HA based on my configuration sit at an updating state constantly. Being new I thought I’d done something wrong but not so sure now. Assume we may need to report this as an issue or listen to see if others having this same problem. Thanks for reporting so I know it just not me.
It went away after phone reboot so I suspect it’s something related to iOS and not HA directly but even then maybe it’s something the devs can look into. These issues tend to come back randomly, see the whole “UI looks active but it doesn’t talk to the backend” fiasco with iOS 15 - that took a while to fix.
On the other hand, Homekit integ is one of my fav things about HA, and it’s been working great for 3+ years for me.
Noticed that the thread is abit old but maybe somebody else can help.
I am facing the same issue here. I started using HA few months back and I got the homekit device updating issue since the beginning.
iPad 9th Gen as the Homekit Hub
RPI4 with HA 2022.12.8
Is it the issue due to im running the homehub with my ipad?
