HomeMatic-IP devices not found with the HmIP-RFUSB stick

Little explanation first: I have a RaspberryPi4 with Home Assistant and HomeMatic(IP) local connected to a CCU2 with over 50 devices coupled, both HomeMatic and HomeMaticIP. The CCU2 is acting up lately so I decided to switch to the HmIP-RFUSB stick. With the help of this youtube video, thanks Simon42, I was able to install and setup the HomeMatic devices. However I can’t connect the HomeMaticIP devices to the stick.
First I delete the device from the CCU2 (as stated in the video), then I start the Teach-in HmIP in the RaspberryMatic integration but nothing. Even a hard reset of the device doesn’t help.
However when I go back to the CCU2 and do the same Teack-in procedure the device is found without any problems.

What am I doing wrong?

Can you see the RFUSB device in the raspberrymatic addon?

Yes I can. And it’s active as well, as said the Hm devices are connecting without any problems, it’s the HmIP devices that don’t want to connect.

I do not know if it can be a RaspBerryMatic problem, since I use Debmatic instead, but I have only HmIP devices and I have found that they should be pretty close to the RFUSB device in order to pair correct.

Thanks for the reply.
I’m currently in contact with ELV to see whether they have a solution.

Hey, whats pretty close? I’ve got them apart about 3 meters, is that not close enough (experiencing same behavior)

@bjkluft , any good news from ELV?

I have had issues with the pairing with distances over 1m.
I guess it is something with the pairing process needing to constantly announce the readiness to pair.
Once they are paired I can move them far apart and they still works

then i’ll have to find a 4meter usb extension cable

Clever solution.
