HomeOS - A Wall Tablet Dashboard [ Release 1.0][Jan 2024]

Love your interface, but could use more detailed and better step by step instructions for inexperienced HA users?

Hello. I have installed the dashboard. But I have a problem with the calendar. Can you possibly help me out?

Hello @avenger11,
your dashboard is pretty awesome and I’m looking to use my brand new Fire HD 10 as a dashboard. Do you have any kind of walkthrought? I have been looking to your github but there’s indication from where to start

Thanks !

Could you compile the image of your project with me? I am unable to implement your dashboard in my project.

Hi @avenger11,

I like you idea and design, awesome nice work!

I have the same question like @Ronin
I’m new in the parts of dashboards, so it would be nice if you have any kind of guide to configure you dashboard.

thanks
Oggy

Hi Folks,

I was working on a new version from scratch easier to share to the community and to adapt.
and on a documentation

See first post !

Thanks for sharing your wonderful setup! May I know what’s the application you used to do up the 3D floor plan?

Same here. this dashboard is amazing. would be awesome if you can provide kind of a step by step manual for getting this wonderful dashboard.
Thank you

Yes, would be nice if you find time to work more on it and make an easy guide

Could anyone tell me how to install it? If I need to upload the entire git repo, what’s the best way?

I know this is an older thread but I was hoping someone could help me out. I have an issue with the apps bar being too far to the left and no matter what I do I can’t seem how to figure out how to shift it.

Bro did you sell this to Apple??? They have a trademark registered for HomeOS now apparently the fall release is going to essentially include what you’ve designed here on the new HomePod that has a screen and hopefully allow it to run on other Apple devices also. Just crazy that they’re finally releasing essentially exactly what you’ve built here and would seem like they would have to acquire your related IP in order to do so.

Nvm I don’t know what I’m talking about lol Apple has bee using HomeOS since 2021 so it predates this not that it would matter since it’s open source I guess. Still amazing though this UI is literally on the same level as what Apple is just finally reaching with iOS 26 IMO. This is on the level of the liquid glass on iOS 26 Dev that I’m running right now IMO. Stunning!

Info about Apple and HomeOS if anyone is interested-

June 2021 – Apple job listings for HomePod/Apple TV engineers mentioned “HomeOS” as an upcoming platform. They later quietly edited it out.
• WWDC 2024 leaks – Internal dev tools hinted at a unified tvOS + audioOS layer that might eventually be called HomeOS.
• HomePod rumors – The next-gen HomePods (with screens) are expected in late 2025 / early 2026, possibly running a stripped-down iOS variant. This could be marketed as HomeOS.
• Apple “home hub” rumors – Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported Apple is testing a dockable iPad-style device for smart homes, potentially running HomeOS as a dedicated UI.
• Code leaks in tvOS – Some internal frameworks call Apple’s shared home platform layer homeOS_internal.

So the most likely scenario:
• Apple already internally uses HomeOS as the name for the combined platform for Apple TV, HomePod, and HomeKit hubs.
• It’ll probably debut publicly when the HomePod with display launches.
