Still new to Z wave but I have one device working already, integration was painless. Now looking at the HomeSeer HSM200 mulitsensor - does it work directly with the Z-wave JS integration?
I’d assume it would, but I also see a "Homeseer: integration so I’m wondering if there’s something unique about Homeseer. Or is the Homseer integration just for the hub?
It should work fine. It’s a standard Z-Wave device, that happens to be branded by Homeseer.
I have two and they integrate easily into HA. I use z-wave js. I ran homeseer for 6 years. It is the hub with add-ons. You can talk to some old automation technology not currently available to HA.
I just got one, but integration isn’t working. I couldn’t get it included without checking “secure inclusion”. Now it’s included but showing up as just “node 3” and no useful entitities. ZWave-JS shows its status as “dead” and re-interviewing it fails, with nothing in the log.
You may need to exclude then re-include. Sometimes they get included in another network from the factory.

After many attempts, I was able to exclude it (I think) and re-include it without the “secure” option. But all I get is “Node 4”. No entities, no functionality.
Tried factory reset - even that didn’t work as described in their documentation. Hold button for 60 seconds and it’s supposed to go yellow, then reset. I see cyan, magenta and blue during that time, but never yellow.
Update: I think it was a range issue. It had enough signal to get on the network but couldn’t complete the interrogation. I’m trying to reach it in the garage, from the house; when I moved it a few feet closer, it was immediately recognized and now it’s working.
My experience shows as you get more nodes the mesh takes over and makes it much easier to include devices. Glad you got it working.
