Probably my poor choice of words. I see a status being transmitted (and decoded), but I’ve never seen that status value change, even when the batteries needed to be changed.
I think you are in the territory of custom cards. There are a few examples in the WiKi (eg HA Custom Card by @vrobenmat · zxdavb/ramses_cc Wiki · GitHub).
FYI, still getting these battery packets occasionally from HR80’s:

When the packet doesn’t end with 01, its always 08
Seems to be working now. assume it just needed time to get the data in to the entity. odd it took the longest to work. good few hours or more

Is the TRV always 08 and others always 01, or does each TRV vary?
hmm, good point. it is always the same TRV. only a couple of packets a day ending with 08, the rest all 01 as below. other HR80’s 1060 packets always end with 01.
NB the HR80’s I have are very verbose for battery status. HR91/92’s seem to be once a day or so.

under 0.30.5, I only have a truncated schema under the 18:x entity (hereunder.) under the binary_sensor.01x_schema entity the complete schema is there.

Yes, that’s right.
The gateway will show a ‘minimal’ schema, that is best-practice, and suitable for most (unless you have those crazy TRVs).
The TCS controllers currently have a full schema.

Great work thank you. Just upgraded to 0.30.7 and it has gone smoothly.
I have a classic two BDR91 valves, one for the heating and one for the hot water.
The schema under binary_sensor.01x_schema entity doesn’t show a hotwater_valve though:

0.30.7 looks good to me! Zone names seem stable, and min/max restores immediately from cache on startup. Thanks!
One inconsequential thing I noticed while digging around: the zone using the evohome unit as a sensor shows a null sensor in the discovered schema. (I do have this manually defined in the minimal schema, as per the wiki). Nonetheless, the zone entity works perfectly, displaying the present temperature as expected.

…is likely a bug on my side.
Looks like I haven’t implemented this very well.
I will change it so that 18:xxxxxx will say “Minimal Schema”, and 01:xxxxxx device says “Working Schema”, instead of “Schema” (in the extended state attributes).
All of this will not change any behaviour of ramses_cc in any meaningful way.
Has it ever shown a HW valve? your implication is that is has.
I wonder if your system is misconfigured? I will need a 24h packet log, with a restart of HA.

This integrations does not expose HA devices, only HA entities (climate, water_heater, remote), and sensors.
