Horizontal stack + conditional card = misaligned cards

I like to use horizontal stacks a lot. I also like to use conditional cards to have one card show when something is true, and a different card when that something is false. Unfortunately combining horizontal stacks with conditionals where one is always shown and one is always hidden gives slightly different alignment, as seen below. Note how the highlighted card’s right border is further left than the other three cards.

Is there a way to avoid this? Is this a BUG?

The conditional card leaves a bit of space when it is hidden. It has done since day one. Bug? Probably.
