Anyone out there have a sensor on their hot tub cover to alert when it isn’t closed ?
I was thinking i could potentially use one of the sensative zwave strips on the side of the tub and a magnet on the cover skirt to detect open/closed, but wanted to see if anyone else has some bright ideas?

that is certainly how i would approach it.
Magnetic window sensor is an easy way.
This is a really interesting project. I have 2 kids who constantly forget to close the cover, or at least fail to close it properly.

Did you try the sensitive strips for this? I am thinking about trying the same thing. If so, how/where did you mount yours?
