I found this temperature sensor which has the sensor on a wire. Just make a small space through the foam insulation and make sure the sensor contacts the tank copper body. Works really well and just connects to Home Assistant using Zigbee (conbee2).
You have to buy it from the French company (or perhaps source direct from China)
OWON - Zigbee remote temperature probe on cable

Hi, yes I saw it in blackadder, contacted the French company tech support who confirmed it would work with ZHA. I bought one and it worked straight away.
I run HA on an old NUC with conbee2 USB stick.
It gives good results
Too bad Domadoo doesn’t ship to US, otherwise I’d be all over this. If you know of another distributor, preferably in US (likely more expensive), please reply back.
Might be late but I just got it from Domadoo. I’m using it to measure the temperature of my fish tank for a few days now and it seems to work perfectly.
Integration to Home Assistant via ZHA was successful with the Sonoff dongle (and after placing fully charged batteries).
This sensor has a problem, when you pair it you can get temperatures but only por 7 o 9 days after that the sensor stops reporting data, i observed that the days when sensor stuck it was reducing every time, maybe is a power battery related, i ordered external 2xAAA power to deliver continue power to the device maybe i can solve the problem.
By other hand i will tray enabling lqi on the device in HA, i will test.
