I wanted to share a custom Lovelace card I built to turn daily household chores into a fun, friendly competition for families and flatmates: the Household Scoreboard Card.
What is it?
Instead of nagging each other about who empties the dishwasher or takes out the trash, the card turns every completed chore into XP. Players climb ranks from Novice to Legend and compete for the top spot on the podium!
Key Features:
Dynamic Podium: 1st place with a golden crown 
in the center, flanked by silver and bronze – with profile pictures auto-loaded from person.*entities.
Level & Rank Progression: Real-time animated progress bars transitioning from Novice to Legend.
Daily Streaks: Rewards consistency with flame badges (🔥 7-day streak).
“Who’s turn is it?” Task Roulette: Can’t decide who does a chore? Hit the dice button to trigger an animated slot machine that fairly picks someone (weighted in favor of players with fewer XP).
Smart Task Badges & Emojis: Auto-categorizes tasks (kitchen

, etc.) with custom tags and colors.
Native To-Do List Integration: Works with native Home Assistant todo.*entities. Supports recurring resets (daily, hourly, multi-daily like[2x daily]) and dynamic overdue bounties (bonus XP for every overdue day).
Retro 8-Bit Web Audio: Pure browser-synthesized arcade sounds (coin pickups, victory fanfares, roulette clicks) with an on-card mute toggle.
Wall Tablets & Nest Hub / Cast Ready: Includes touch-drag scrolling, automatic 90°-rotation gesture detection for portrait-mounted screens, and smooth scroll buttons (▲/▼).
Full Visual UI Editor: 100% configurable via the standard Home Assistant dashboard editor without writing raw YAML.
