How am I getting notified over internet?

I have a working amcrest CrossLineDetection event automation that successfully calls a notify.mobile service when I’m home.

However, sometimes I will be some 3 or more miles away, and I will get a notification on my phone, and I don’t understand how. I thought I had configured HA only to be accessible when I am on my LAN.

It looks as if I’ve messed up my security somehow, but I don’t know how. I’d appreciate any suggestions on how to improve it.

Thank you!

Some additional details:

Home assistant is using google backed notification services to send push notification to you. Switch this setting to Always.

Thanks, @fuatakgun. I had missed that completely.

For anyone like me who went looking for that screen, you can find it on your Settings page of your companion app. The screens on my companion app look so much like what they look like on the computer browser, I thought they were different renditions of the same thing. Learn something every day.
