How can I create image of my ubuntu server and save it to my computer?

I happen to have both hassio and openhab running on pi4 now backing each up can be cumbersome I am wondering would I be able to to back my whole Ubuntu server and transfer the image file over my local network to my computer?

Shutdown your pi. Put your sd-card in a windows machine. Use win32imager to make a backup (disk-image) of your sd-card

or use rpi clone to do it while running

I already thought of that but it is cumbersome, looking for routine automatic back ups.

Thank you so much this looks promising, even if I can do it on a USB key from my sd card while my system is running I would be golden.

@fxcoolby. I used it a few years back when I was running a pi and worked very well.

So I read on this and figured it is specific to RP, however my HA is running on ubuntu server along with OpenHab. Would this still work?

Instructions specifically talk about other OSs and he gives a debian example. That’s you…
