I am a complete beginner and still managed to integrate a Z-Wave device via an Aeotec Z-Stick 7 (firmware update is done) and Z-Wave JS Add-On. It is a Heat It DIN Rail 616 device (identical in construction to Logic Group ZIF 5028) with 6 relay outputs and 6 inputs. In the Z-Wave Add-On the relays are already controllable.
How do I get these entities displayed in the Main Overview of the Home Assitant?
I’m not sure why you aren’t seeing what you expect in the overview dashboard. I’m not familiar with the device you have but, generally the controls and sensors of a device show up automatically in the overview.
I wonder if the device you have has entities that are ‘defined’ as controls and sensors. Maybe they are defined as configuration or diagnostic items. These don’t show up in the overview.
If you go to settings then devices and services and then the device tab and find your device, what controls, sensors, configuration and diagnostic items are shown?
Hi templeton_nash,
the Heat It DIN Rail 616 device (identical in construction to Logic Group ZIF 5028) is somewhat hidden in the Z-Wave JS Add-On visible and the relays also controllable there.
After successful integration in the Z-Wave JS Add
On as a newly discovered device, however, the entities were not displayed/added in the Home Assistant main overview.
A restart did not bring any change.
Maybe this is normal, then the question would be how to make the handshake to Home Assistant…
If an entity is disables in HA you can reenable it
HAUI >> settings >> devices & services >> entities
-use the filter to “show disabled entities” , strangely I needed to select the text and not the checkbox
-select the entities you want to enable and options will appear to allow “enable selected”. This can br done individually or several at a time
