How can I manually install an integration? Frigate - HACS/GitHub Issue

Setup

  1. Home Assistant OS (everything up-to-date)
  2. Frigate in a Docker container on a separate machine
  3. Attempting to install the Frigate (NVR) integration

Issue

  1. The Frigate integration is installed via HACS
  2. HACS requires a GitHub account
  3. I created a GitHub account. The first thing I did was attempt to set up HACS. GitHub immediately flagged my account - message: “You are marked as spam, and therefore cannot authorize a third party application.” I have not received any explanation as to why. I haven’t posted or done anything, yet my account is essentially blacklisted right out of the gate.
  4. It appears I am dead in the water. If my GitHub account is a dead end, that means no HACS. No HACS means no Frigate integration, which means I can’t access certain functionality with my camera (Reolink video doorbell).

Request for Help

  1. Is there any way I can install the Frigate integration manually? It is open-source, so I would hope there would be some way to do it, even if not very convenient.
  2. If I’m simply SOL because of the GitHub account issue, does anyone know a way I can get two-way audio working from Home Assistant with the Reolink Video Doorbell without the Frigate integration?

Any help would be appreciated.

Install frigate using docker

yes, just copy the friage folder from the GitHub and place it inside of /config/custom_components in your HA instance
