I just want to change the sidebar from white to something darker. My HASS theme doesn’t seem to affect it regardless if it is light or dark mode.

No it doesn’t affect " The Menu (Sidebar) within the File-Editor Add-On "
sorry the last post was deleted above you, so I don’t know what the result was.
My fault: I didn’t read the question properly ad wasn’t talking about the file editor but the UI in general.
No problem. Is there any way I can edit the sidebar though? I saw the post after yours but it doesn’t explain how he did it, which I just assumed he used the browser dev tools to edit.
Yes i “only” did it in browser dev tools, and you see the “path”
However im not sure how or whether it’s possible to apply to a Theme, but that would most likely be the only way, unless you you access the File-Editor-Container, and change there

Maybe you can find Hint’s there, howto get “down” into the shadow-root of “hassio-ingress-view” Where Probably all Add-ons “Lives” in it’s own sub/Iframe
So far i haven’t bumped into a any Topics for Card-Mod an Addon
But on the other hand, i haven’t Used The Search Function for this particular purpose
