How do I get Add Ons in my Settings menu?

I want to install Meross integration from Github and read I need to have HACS to do it easliy.
I found a web video on youtube that shows how to install HACS but needs SSH add-in which is access from Home Assistant > Settings > Add-Ons.

Only problem is my menu does not show Add-Ons??? How do I turn it on? NB: the video guide was only recorded a few months ago, so the instructions should still be current. https://youtu.be/XOnmJ5LPnIw?si=mWdspf5pxLsQvM6N&t=42

My Home Assistant is Core : 2024.10.1 & Front End : 20241002.2

Home Assistant is installed to a Synology NAS running Docker. NAS is Model 918+
I’ve already configured the integration to my electricity provider Amber and my ASUS router as an IoT, so far everything else is working fine. My next step was to get these Meross plugs going.

I think that in HA core only addons are not visible - possible, so if you have such type of HA that’s the reason.
You have 918+, so unless you changed HDD format from default btrfs to anything else then you can install VM manager and install HA into VM. That way you’ll have it all - supervised HA with all other stuff. I tried both - docker and VM and speed difference is really not noticeable, i couldn’t tell if any installation is slower.

Since you are running HA in a docker, Add-ons are not available.
This is due to the fact that Add-on are dockers, and only available on supervised systems (as is HACS)…

However, you don’t NEED Hacs…have you taken a look at option 2 ?

Unzip/copy the meross_cloud directory within the custom_components directory of your homeassistant installation. etc etc etc
