How do I tell if a Zigbee repeater\relay is doing anything?

I purchased a number of USB powered Zigbee repeaters\relays. The instructions tell you yo simply plug them into any available USB socket and pair them as normal, and they should simply do everything automatically.

The repeaters\relays have no software or app of their own. They’re designed to plug into a phone charger or a USB wall outlet and just pass on everything that they receive.

Is there any way with home assistant to check and see if they’re actually doing anything, or what they’re doing?

You don’t say which integration you’re using, but both have network maps showing connections between routers.

In the ZHA map, if you click on the oval representing the new router the connections it has discovered show up in bold. The are all the connections it has found, not the ones it is actually using - I’m not sure it is possible to tell what those are, if only because they are changing all the time.

If you’re concerned that then new router is not actually working, you could try pairing a nearby end device through it. That will give you a single connection you can observe on the map and the end device will have a LQI value derived from that link.

All that I know is that I’m using the official blue T shaped Zigbee usb stick, and unbranded repeaters.

How do I access the ZHA map?
