I bought home assistant green, and this is the most unintuitive product I’ve ever seen. I just wanted it to work like my starling home hub but I switched to ring products and nothing works.

Can’t ring cameras be integrated without HomeKit?
Ring - Home Assistant
I exclusively use Apple products so I need it to work in the home app. Also I want doorbell notifications to pop up on my Apple TV like they did with my google cameras and the starling home device. Home Assistant is not easy to use or intuitive at all
Is their new product coming out in two days going to be easier to use?
I believe it will be better for everyone if you drop this attitude.
There are 540.000 installations in the analytics page and rumors say 2 million.
So the person who just bought a device and has spent a few minutes is going to tell everyone else that this is unintuitive.

Have you ever used the Starling Home Hub? It is super simple to setup and manage. I was expecting something similar with Home Assistant Green.
Nope. But my guess is that you can barely do anything with it.
That’s the deal.
If you want simple then you get limited.
If you want unlimited things to do and integrate then it becomes complex.
You can’t have both.

Homeassistant is targeted at power and integration not ease of use. Sorry.
Most things will NOT be plug and play and if that’s your expectations please check the attitude at the door.
You just traded a sedan for a sportscar but you better be ready to drive or at the very least politely ask hotlw to drive it…
Now how about editing that title huh? (edit thank you now you might get some folks who been there done that because I know for a fact they exist…)

By not cussing at everyone when it’s not going your way for starters. I get frustrated but there’s no need for that especially asking for help.
Sk what is it you’re actually trying to do where are you starting from and what would you consider a good result?

It is.
Doing the installation process with a raspberry is much more involved than just inserting the LAN cable.
My advice is to integrate Ring directly to Home Assistant. There is no need to route through HomeKit as I see it.
But I don’t have HomeKit or Ring, or Apple. So maybe I’m wrong.
I do however have some knowledge of Home Assistant.

Well I included screenshots of the Apple home app and the live views are not working. I want to be able to view my cameras in the home app and also I want when my doorbell senses motion for a live view to automatically pop up on the tv. Once it’s working in the home app, everything should be good. Also when someone presses the doorbell my HomePod should make a ding dong sound.

I agree with wally. It sounds like you need to integrate the cMs directly to HA… I’d start with familiarize with the ring docs posted. And probably try to setup ring>>ha>>home kit. It sounds like you’re doing Ring >> hk >>ha… Unfortunately I dumped my ring stuff a year ago…
Theres plenty who use both and i even saw someone yesterday pushing ring cams to thier TV through an addon. You’ll be amszed at the possible but yeah sometimes you’ll need that dude.
But this part has nothing to do with Home Assistant. Right?
The link between Ring and HomeKit is broken, this should be unrelated to Home Assistant

Now it’s showing snapshots every 10 seconds like it should, but when I actually try view the window camera, it never loads a live view. For some reason the doorbell has never worked thus far.
Ring doesn’t work with HomeKit natively. So I have ring setup to home assistant and then I have the home assistant bridge added to HomeKit. I have until January 31st to return this to amazon so maybe I’ll get it working before then. I’m also curious if their new product coming out in two days will possibly be easier to use?
