How HA can reach my phone even it is not on the network

Hello all,

I have a question that bother me for some days.

How can HA push a critical noticfication to my phone when iám not on the same network?
I don’t have Nabu Casa either.

Do you ask how to set it up or do you wonder why it works even though you don’t have Nabu Casa?

I’am curiouse how it work. I think HA must make use of a service in some kind, i don’t know.
I have set it up, and i was amazed that my phone got an alarm, without connecting to the LAN
