How many installations of Home Assistant are there?
And as not everyone opts-in to sharing analytics the number is actually much higher.
I think Balloob said something like a 1/3 of all users opt-out.

I wonder what it would take to get higher participation? I am in touch with a device maker who is curious to know how big their market might be if they want to make their product Home Assistant compatible.

This note on the second page says that 299k is the current actual total, not the “opt in” portion.

Thanks. I sent the analytics URL to them. I don’t know how much interest they will have but it can’t hurt to have another compatible product.

Absolutely nothing. There will always be a percentage of the population that will opt-out for various reasons. (if you can solve this issue with absolute certainty I’m sure no less than 5 major software publishers would love to talk to you ASAP.)
You just have to include a general estimate of that amount in your statistics…

Good input. If the 300K Home Assistant users doesn’t interest them, maybe Matter will.
