When I added 20 Matter over Thread devices, Skyconnect worked fine, but when the number of my Matter over Thread devices reached 50, I issued group control, and all the devices went offline, and it took nearly an hour to come back online. After everything was online, I tried to power off and restart the Raspberry Pi4, but it still took nearly an hour for the devices to come online.
Here are the only limitations that I have come across [Reference]
Which I copied-pasted below:
------------------------------
There are limits to the number of device types a single Thread network supports.
Role | Limit |
---|---|
Leader | 1 |
Router | 32 |
End Device | 511 per Router |
Thread tries to keep the number of Routers between 16 and 23. If a REED attaches as an End Device and the number of Routers in the network is below 16, it automatically promotes itself to a Router.
May I ask, what is “group control”?
Yes, I understand this, but this is obviously a theoretical value, and my actual use cannot achieve such a huge amount. The group control I use is that when you add the same device, the HA homepage will be displayed as a group. Click to control all devices in the group. I don’t have an in-depth understanding of how it is implemented, and I don’t know if it is the same as matter’s group control.
