im currently running Home-Assistant on an Intel NUC with latest Version. Also i added the SkyConnect Stick.
My ZigBee network does have multiple Endpoints (Aqara Humidity Sensors). Also yesterday i added some “Nous A1Z” Outlets to get a better/stable connection for Sensors which sometimes getting disconnected / unavailable.
So as seen on the visualization page, the outlets do have a connection to each other and also to the SkyConnect. But how can i “force” the connection of an aqara over an Outlet/Router? Or is this done automatically in case the connection to the skyconnect is getting worse?
Im not sure if i can understand the diagram correctly:
Long line = poor connection, or high number = poor connection?
Aqara devices are a somewhat special: once paired they stick to the router that was used use for pairing. I did this mistake when pairing some door sensor: I paired them close to my Zigbee coordinator and then moved to a different room. Now zigbee map shows that they communicate via that coordinator that is quite far, so the link quality is low. The only solution to that is to remove such devices from the network and pair them again from the actual place they are located.
thanks for the fast answer!
I tried this already with one sensor far away from skyconnect. But its still „sticked“ to the stick directly not via the outlet near by….
Can i somehow trigger a full rebuild of the topology?
AFAIK you can’t do it for zigbee network (z-wave has such option). But in principle as long as you fully reset your sensor and removed it from your network it should find the nearest router. Did you confirm that it acts as a router? Not all powered devices do. I checked your diagram, and yes, you have routers there.
So i repaired the sensor in the office, this triggered something, so the sensor in the living room is now connected to the living room outlet.
Could you explain how i can interpret the diagram? If the number on the line is high, does that mean the connection is good or bad? Also does the coloring of the lines have a meaning? Thanks!
I don’t see any use of the term ‘pair via’ in any of the comments here. This is a function available on most all zigbee networks, I have ripped out my ZHA a while ago so not sure if it is still visible in ZHA router nodes. Even with this function used, I found Aqara devices to not always obey. I think this may be due to a combo of issues with Aqara firmware versions and firmware versions in the specific router you are trying to get the Aqara device to learn to default to ‘routing via’. Good hunting!
Google a bit and you should be able to figure out of this function is available and how to use.
I use zigbee2mqtt, so my map looks different. But some people are critical to the reliability of link quality values, because they are reported differently by different vendors.
