How to avoid using battery for Aeotec Water Sensor 7

I would like to use a USB power adapter to give power to an aeotec water sensor 7.

Is there an already made solution or product out there?

I don’t have the time to soldier all of my sensors.

I have the water sensor 6 which does support external power but the 7 is battery only. You could try searching for a battery insert to which you could connect power to. But most USB power adapters provide 5V and the sensor is expecting 1.5V.

I think it expects 3v given that it uses 1/2 AA.

Am I missing something?

No, I had assumed it used a normal AA battery. The 1/2 AA is 3.6V so you could probably get away with a 3.3V power supply or a 5V to 3.3V adapter. However, I don’t think you can avoid soldering the cables to the sensor.
But given that the battery life is reported as up to 3 years, is it really worth the effort?

I have a bunch of these. Running since May with mostly default settings. Temp report every hour, wake-up every 4 hours. Battery still reports 100%
