Hi,
I have Brink Flair 325 HRU and it has a reasonable ModBus interface (someone integrate it to habitat nicely, see the picture in Readme). I bought a converter so I can connect it to either ESP8266 or Raspberry Pi and now I am thinking about how to integrate it the best via Home Assistant. The HRU is physically in a different place than my HA machine (so I cannot connect it directly, unfortunately).
I thought that the best would be to have something like TCP ModBus “transparent” proxy via ESP8266 and ESPHome (because that’s just so easy to use in other cases) and set up everything (like modbus address, selects, …) in Home Assistant, but that doesn’t seem to be trivial (or at least I don’t know how to do that “proxy”).
Or should I do HTTP API → ModBus RTU?
Does anyone has an idea or has done something similar so I can get some tips? Thanks!
