I am starting to suspect that my Aeon Z-stick Gen5 is faulty. After having a working z-wave network for months, it has recently been starting to act up as described here.
My OZW_Log.txt is flooded with error messages and grows to several hundred thousand lines in a half a day. Z-wave switches are not responding or reporting the correct status back to HA.
I even rolled back to a previous state by restoring a hass.io snapshot, just to check that the issue wasn’t related to some recent hass.io upgrade or config changes made, but the problem persists.
It mostly takes at least 5 minutes, mostly a lot more, for my z-wave devices to initialize. Once all of them (at least the AC powered ones) report themselves as ready, they still don’t respond to commands.
So, if the Aeon z-stick is somehow faulty, how can I check that?
